About Us

“The means of social communication have become so important as to be for many the chief means of information and education, of guidance and inspiration in their behavior as individuals, families and within society at large. …the very evangelization of modern culture depends to a great extent on the influence of the media…”
(Pope John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio, 37)

Our Mission

Annunciation Radio is a non-profit, tax exempt radio ministry whose purpose is to broadcast the authentic teachings of Jesus Christ and his Holy Catholic Church to the general public.

Why Annunciation Radio Will Succeed

Many factors will enable Annunciation Radio to reach it’s goal of bringing Catholic radio to the Colorado Front Range:

• LOW COST: Programming from EWTN, proven to be of the highest quality and appeal, will be re-broadcast free of any cost or licensing fee.

• NON-PROFIT: Annunciation Radio will primarily be listener supported. 501(c)(3) tax exempt status frees Annunciation Radio from the need to generate profit; its only operating cost is direct overhead.

• LOCAL CONTROL: The Board of Directors, made up of local Catholics who are our fellow parishioners, will steer the radio station, keep it focused, and encourage it to fill the needs of the local community. While Annunciation Radio is a lay apostolate, it will be available to our Archbishop whenever he wishes to address the local community.

• FOCUS: Annunciation Radio will re-broadcast authentic Catholic teaching as carried by EWTN, featuring popular programs and famous personalities true to the magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.

• SHARED EXPERIENCE: Annunciation Radio is a member of the Catholic Radio Association (CRA), a group founded by a handful of pioneers who paved the way ahead of us, who are dedicated to sharing ideas, experience and advice with other Catholic radio stations all across the country. There are currently near 90 Catholic Radio Stations around the country.

Management Relationships

A couple of our relationships.

ETERNAL WORD TELEVISION NETWORK (EWTN), John Pepe, National Radio Marketing Manager.
EWTN has developed radio programming for the purpose of spreading and renewing the faith all over the world using Short Wave radio. It has been the desire of Mother Angelica, foundress of the network, to make their radio signal available free of charge to anyone in the United States who is willing to purchase and operate a local AM or FM radio station to help spread and renew the faith. It is out of this love of God that Catholic radio has started to blossom all across the United States.

THE CATHOLIC RADIO ASSOCIATION, Steve Gajdosik, Executive Director
According to Steve Gajdosik, “the mission of the Catholic Radio Association is to help draw people to Jesus Christ and his holy Church through expediting the establishment of, guiding the operation of and offering critical services to Catholic radio stations,” and to see that there are “faithful Catholic radio stations broadcasting to every diocese throughout the United States

“Do not be afraid to go out into the streets and public places, like the first Apostles who preached Christ? This is no time to be ashamed of the Gospel. The Gospel must not be kept hidden because of fear or indifference. It is the time to preach it from the rooftops.” – John Paul II, Vigil of World Youth Day, Denver. 1993

Annunciation Radio is a member of the Catholic Radio Association.

The Catholic Radio Association (CRA) was founded in 1999 by the leaders and pioneers in Catholic radio. The Association’s mission is to assist new apostolates and dioceses in successfully establishing and operating non-profit Catholic-programmed stations to evangelize and catechize the Faithful and non-Catholics alike. The directors and leaders of the CRA are responsible for almost half of all full-time lay Catholic radio stations on the air in the United States today. They have demonstrated their knowledge and ability in establishing and running radio apostolates. Their desire was, and is, to utilize the knowledge and experience they have gained and effectively transmit this knowledge to all members, that all may be more effective instruments of God in quickly and efficiently establishing additional stations.

The mission of the Catholic Radio Association is to help draw people to Jesus Christ and his holy Church through expediting the establishment of, guiding the operation of, and offering critical services to Catholic radio stations. The Catholic Radio Association seeks to bring together Catholic radio apostolates, program providers, and the hierarchy of the Catholic Church in order that this means of social communication be used effectively and in obedience to the decrees of the Second Vatican Council and the Magisterium of the Church, especially as expressed in the words of Pope John Paul II.

“No believer in Christ, no institution of the Church can avoid this supreme duty: to proclaim Christ to all peoples.“
Pope John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio, 3

“The most important of these inventions are those media which, such as the press, movies, radio, television and the like, can, of their very nature, reach and influence, not only individuals, but the very masses and the whole of human society, and thus can rightly be called the media of social communication“
(Inter Mirifica, 1).

“...entire groups of the baptized have lost a living sense of the faith, or even no longer consider themselves members of the Church, and live a life far removed from Christ and his Gospel. ...In this case what is needed is a “new evangelization” or a “re-evangelization.”
– Pope John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio, 33

“To proclaim Christ in the media at the dawn of the new millennium is not only a necessary part of the Church’s evangelizing mission; it is also a vital, inspiring and hope-filled enrichment of the media’s message. May God abundantly bless all those who honor and proclaim His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in the vast world of the means of social communication.”
--Pope John Paul II, Message for World Media Day 2000, January 24, 2000
